And we’re off! On Sunday, hundreds of Your Party members came together in Norwich for the first of many regional assemblies. In a spirit of solidarity and respect, members discussed Your Party’s four draft founding documents, which we published last week. Watch the video to get a sense of the day:
We're thrilled with the feedback with those that attended. Splitting into groups with a facilitator meant that everyone had a chance to speak and give their view. The brilliant ideas generated, whether on our structures, organising strategy or political positions, will now shape the evolution of the documents as we move forward, with drafts to be updated accordingly and shared with you. This is deliberative democracy in action.
This is the start of something historic, with members at the heart of a process leading to the official founding of the party at the end of November. So, if you weren’t in Norwich last weekend, find your nearest regional assembly now and register. There are three assemblies this weekend – in Colchester, Milton Keynes and North London – with plenty more already announced. And look out for more locations being added, as well as online assemblies for anyone who can’t make it in person.
