Dear WENDY,
Over the weekend, something momentous happened in Liverpool: a truly democratic, socialist party that can challenge for power was born.
Your Party members have amended and approved our founding documents, including our constitution, and Your Party is now officially founded!
And yes, Your Party is the name! Chosen, of course, in an all-member vote.
Our founding process has been an unprecedented exercise in democracy, with regional assemblies in every corner of the country, crowd-editing of our founding documents online, all culminating in a big, vibrant conference to establish the party. It hasn't always been plain sailing, but working together Your Party members have pulled it off.
We now stand as the largest British socialist party in generations. We have upwards of 55,000 members, a democratic constitution, and a set of unifying political principles that members have overwhelmingly endorsed. From collective member leadership to democratic accountability for representatives, we're doing politics differently: from the ground up, not the top down.
With the party founded, elections to come and community organising plans in the works, now is the time to join!
