Dear WENDY,
As you will have seen, the United States has carried out an illegal military attack on Venezuela, bombed its capital and kidnapped its President.
The US is yet again attempting to carry out regime change in a country with huge reserves of oil. President Trump has said the US will “run” Venezuela and be “very strongly involved” in its oil industry.
What you can do:
- Sign Your Party’s petition calling on Keir Starmer to unequivocally oppose and condemn Trump’s armed assault, ensure the UK votes to condemn it at the UN Security Council, and demand the safe return of Venezuela’s head of state. Add your name here.
- Attend the emergency picket outside Downing Street on Monday, 5 January at 6pm, or if you can’t make it to London a protest near you.
WENDY, this flagrant aggression is not an isolated incident, but the latest in a long line of illegal US military interventions in Latin America to secure dominance and control over sovereign nations and their natural resources.
History shows these interventions bring instability, suffering and death — not freedom and democracy.
In the face of violence against the Venezuelan people, silence or equivocation is not neutrality. It is complicity.
Sign the petition
We denounce this act of naked imperial aggression and stand with the Venezuelan people in defence of their country and sovereignty.
In solidarity,
Your Party
